UNESCO-ICHEI actively expands cooperation with various parties, facilitates the implementation of projects, and establishes a platform for exchanges and cooperation between global partners and experts in the field, shares experience and best practices, and deepens project results by holding or participating in international, regional and national conferences.

    Leading the Effective Integration of Generative AI and Higher Education


    The policy dialogue was co-organised by UNESCO-ICHEI, IIOE Indonesia National Centre (Indonesia Cyber Education Institute), UNESCO Bangkok Multisectoral Regional Office, and UNESCO Jakarta Multisectoral Regional Office, with support from the ASEAN Secretariat and SEAMEO Secretariat. The Asian Development Bank and Kingsoft Corporation sponsored the event. Nearly 200 higher education leaders and stakeholders from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam attended the event. Key discussion topics included the integration of AI in higher education, teacher professional development, AI talent cultivation, and university-industry collaboration.

    Advancing Higher Education Transformation through Generative AI

     
    The policy dialogue was co-organised by Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT, IIOE Uzbekistan National Centre), UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE), UNESCO Almaty Regional Office for Central Asia, and UNESCO-ICHEI, with support from Uzbek enterprises ELINE Press and PROINFO.
     
    Over 220 higher education stakeholders from 14 countries across Central Asia and neighbouring regions participated in the event. Discussions focused on the opportunities and challenges of generative AI in education, ethical AI adoption, education governance, and fostering multilateral partnerships.

    Advancing Higher Education Strategy Implementation in the AI Era

     
    The Africa High-Level Policy Dialogue was co-organised by UNESCO, UNESCO-ICHEI, Gaston Berger University (IIOE Senegal National Centre), Université numérique Cheikh Hamidou KANE (UN-CHK), and Université Amadou Mahtar Mbow, with sponsorship from Guangzhou Xuanshi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and Jinyu Zhida Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. The event brought together over 220 higher education stakeholders from across African subregions and beyond, including senior government officials, representatives from UNESCO and other international and regional organisations, university leaders, industry executives and corporate representatives. Aligned with UNESCO's Africa Priority and Gender Equality Strategy, the conference was conducted within the framework of UNESCO's flagship programme "Campus Africa". Key highlights included the joint launch by UNESCO-ICHEI and UNESCO of the "Empowering African Female Higher Education Professionals with Digital and AI Competencies" project, along with UNESCO-ICHEI's introduction of the "35,000" training initiative for African higher education professionals and the latest IIOE generative AI teacher empowerment curriculum.
