2026.07.14 18
On July 11, 2026, the "Empowering Our Youth, Honoring Our Seniors" event, hosted by the Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation and co-organised by the International Leading Education Alliance (ILEA) and Singapore GMC Group, alongside the "Healthy Lifestyle in the AI Era" event hosted by ILEA, were successfully held in Singapore. Centered on practicing a healthy lifestyle, this series of events brought together over 200 students from seven polytechnics in Singapore and more than 400 older persons from local communities, effectively promoting intergenerational learning and social cohesion. Mr. CAO Zian, Chief of the IIOE Management Centre at the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI), was invited to attend the event, deliver remarks, and participate in the panel discussion.

Distinguished guests attending the event included Ms. Joyce Lye, Director and President of ILEA and Founder of the Kampung Senang Charity and Education Foundation; Mr. Chan Ki, Honorary Chairman of ILEA; Dr. Eric Wu, Chief Executive Director of ILEA; Dr. Charlene Chen, Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University and Member of Parliament for Tampines East; and Dr. Ang Hak Seng, Professor at the Singapore University of Social Sciences, among others.

Participants emphasised that future education should not only cultivate application-oriented talents proficient in AI technologies, but more importantly, nurture global citizens equipped with AI-for-good ethics, a strong sense of social responsibility, and a dedication to serving humanity. Participants called for the creation of an open, innovative, and inclusive international learning platform, with IIOE serving as an example, to connect universities, communities, healthcare institutions, industry partners, and international organisations. This can accelerate the profound integration of AI innovation with healthy lifestyle education, lifelong learning, youth development, and community services.

Mr. CAO Zian pointed out that the events represented a vivid practice of bringing healthy lifestyles into local communities and a good example of promoting intergenerational learning and lifelong learning in the AI era. In collaboration with partners such as ILEA, UNESCO-ICHEI will leverage existing training practices and achievements to co-develop the IIOE "AI + Healthy Lifestyles" micro-certification programme, aiming to cultivate localised talents essential for industry growth. The programme will be accessible to global partners via the IIOE platform, with the goal of facilitating the international sharing of high quality training resources and innovative case studies.
