UNESCO-ICHEI located in Shenzhen, China, was approved on Novemeber 13, 2015 by the 38th Genernal Conference of UNESCO. It is the tenth Education Sector UNESCO Category 2 centre in the world and aslo the first Category 2 centre for higher education in China.
This newsletter aims to disseminate new thinking, ideas,technology and methods of ICTs in higher education. It covers a wide range of topics such as heated issues, policies, cases in practice, and international projects in relation to online education, mobile learning, distant education, MOOC, OER, etc. It also provides updates on UNESCO-ICHEI, including projects, meetings and conferences, activities, and communication.
Thirty-two government officials of departmental and divisional levels in higher education systems, university senior officials and professors from 7 African countries, i.e., Ethiopia, Egypt, Djibouti, Ghana, Malawi, Cameroon and Botswana, participated in the seminar and studied theories and practices of ICT application in higher education.
The Centre for Higher Education Research of Southern University of Science and Technology hosted the Seminar on ICT in Higher Education Innovation for Asian Countries 2017 which provided ICT capacity training for officials, technicians, academics in four Asian countries.
