During May 29-30, 2018, ICHEI delegation visited in Jakarta and had an in-depth meeting with Mr. Ainun Na’im, the Secretary General of Ministry of Research, Science and Higher Education.
During May 30-June 2, the delegation of ICHEI visited Myanmar and had several meetings with the Ministry of Higher Education, University of Yangon, Yangon Technology University and UNESCO Yangon Project Office.
The Smart Classroom Programme is a significant programme under the“Digital Education Link” in countries along the Maritime Silk Road by ICHEI, and will build smart classrooms in 6 top universities as partner universities in 6 project countries in Asia and Africa countries (Cambodia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Ethiopia and Djibouti) respectively. The programme is funded by Weidong Cloud Education Group, ICHEI and Southern University of Science and Technology. The major functions of the Smart Classroom will be to enable partner universities to build a comprehensive Learning Management System (LMS), expand their educational resources, as well as to establish a recording and broadcasting system for their academic programmes across campuses.
In August 2017, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, organized by SUSTech and Shenzhen Association for Promoting International Economic & Technological Cooperation (Shenzhen APIETC), the “2017 Seminar on ICT in Higher Education Innovation for Asian and African Countries” was held by ICHEI in Shenzhen with the participation of 33 department-level officials and professors from 4 Asian countries, including Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Oman.
In September 2016, ICHEI, in collaboration with SUSTech, organized the first workshop on “Higher Education Information and Communication Technology: Capacity Building” which provided a 10-day, all-round training for 15 teachers from the field of computer science at Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The training modules included the Huawei network practice training, flipped classes teaching skills, and the advances in computer science and technology which effectively improve the trainees’ technical skills. During the workshops, Ms. WU Yihuan, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen, met with Dr. Chet Chealy, President of the Royal University of Cambodia, and his colleagues.
