On August 27 2017, the Foreign Aid Training Program of the Ministry of Commerce -“Seminar on ICT in Higher Education Innovation for African Countries 2017” which was held at SUSTech came to an end.
On 17 June, 2017, the Inaugural Meeting of the International Advisory Committee of the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) was held in Wuzhou Guest House, Shenzhen.
On the 15th of June 2017, the Regional Conference on Quality Assurance of Higher Education in Asia-Pacific was held in Wuzhou Guesthouse, centrally located in Shenzhen. The event attracted more than 100 top education industry leaders from over 30 countries.
On 2-3 May 2017, Dr HAN Wei, Deputy Director of UNESCO-ICHEI was present at Conference on Higher Education, Policies and Research: Quality and Future Challenges for Eastern Africa, which was held in Djibouti. The Conference was jointly organized by UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa and Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Republic of Djibouti and co-sponsored by UNESCO-ICHEI.
On 30 April 2017, Dr HAN Wei, Deputy Director of UNESCO-ICHEI visited Ain Shams University (ASU) in Egypt. Prof Abd El-Wahab Mohamed Ezzat, President of ASU explored potential areas for cooperation together with Dr Han and signed an MOU on the scene to concretize the cooperation among ASU, UNESCO-ICHEI and Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).
In April 2017, Ms. Fan Li, Programme Officer and Dr. Roger Y Chao Jr., Senior consultant, representing ICHEI, visited Pakistan Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training , to provide consultation for Pakistan government in terms of establishing UNESCO Category 2 Institute in Islamabad, Pakistan.
On March 29th 2017, the delegation from Weidong Cloud Education Group, including the President, Mr. WANG Duanrui was invited to visit ICHEI. Both parties signed an agreement to collaborate on the research projects carried out by ICHEI in Asian and African developing countries, which intends to promote the application of ICTs in abovementioned regions.
During March 24th to 27th, former Assistant Director-General for Strategic Planning of UNESCO, Mr. Hans d’Orville, and Ms. Mehri Madarshahi were invited to visit ICHEI and offer consulting services to devise its long-term strategic plan.
