On January 23rd, 2018, Ms. SHEN Xuesong, Deputy Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), Ms. FU Bo, Director of Department of International Cooperation of CEAIE, and Ms. WANG Ying, Senior Program Director of CEAIE, visited ICHEI in Shenzhen.
Relying on the advantages of Shenzhen’s information and communication technology (ICT) sector and drawing upon China’s experience with the massification of its higher education, ICHEI aims to meet the local demand for quality higher education resources and to support Asian and African countries to improve the quality of higher education and promote educational equity.
During December 20th – 27th of 2017, Huawei organized its ICT Skill Competition Middle East 2017 in Shenzhen. Prof. LI Ming, Director of UNESCO-ICHEI, and Prof. ZHAO Jianhua, Senior Specialist of UNESCO-ICHEI were invited to attend this event.
From December 16 to 18, 2017, Mr. LI Ming, Director, Mr. ZHAO Jianhua, Senior Specialist, of UNESCO-ICHEI, joined by Mr. WANG Duanrui, CEO of Weidong Cloud Education Group, participated in the 2017 Transforming Education Conference for Humanity (TECH) held in Visakhapatnam, India.
The second annual board meeting of Shenzhen Mingde Experimental School was held on 30th November 2017, in which Director of UNESCO-ICHEI Professor LI Ming attended and was elected as a new member of the board.
At the invitation of Mr. CHEN Yidan, Founder of the Yidan Prize and Co-founder of Tencent, Mr. LI Ming, Director of UNESCO-ICHEI, attended the First Yidan Prize Summit held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on December 11th, 2017.
From November 28 to 29, 2017, the Fourth Meeting of the Global Alliance to Monitor Learning (GAML) was held by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) and Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) at Madrid, Spain.
13-15 November 2017, UNESCO-ICHEI and the Center for Higher Education Research (CHER) of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), China, arranged an expert delegation to Ain Shams University (ASU).
November 2017, UNESCO-ICHEI sent delegates to visit partner universities in Egypt, Ethiopia and Djibouti, to conduct field research on the Smart Classroom Project, and to inspect site and equipment for the classroom.
