UNESCO-ICHEI Signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Kingsoft OfficeJune 28, 2020
On June 23rd, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony was successfully held in Shenzhen between The International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) and Kingsoft Office. Mr. LI Ming, Director of ICHEI, Ms. HAN Wei, Executive Deputy Director of ICHEI, Mr. Wang Min, Industry-university Cooperation Consultant and the representatives from Kingsoft Office: Senior vice President Zhuang Yong, Product director Zhang Ning, President assistant Liu Zixin attended the ceremony. According to the agreement, ICHEI and Kingsoft Office will cooperate in the fields of Smart Classroom Office software, Online WPS OFFICE course resources of International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) and online and offline teacher training.
Director Li Ming welcomed the participants from Kingsoft. He thought Kingsoft Office is an early and widespread enterprise in China. Kingsoft Office is also well recognized in some oversea countries. Particularly the cooperation in Asian and African countries, follows the same path as ICHEI. After becoming a global partner, Director Li hopes to strengthen cooperation and export China’s advance office experience to the world, and said that he is looking forward to working with Kingsoft Office to put China’s experience and technology on the ground to promote the digital transformation in the world, especially in Asian and African developing countries.
Zhuang Yong said Kingsoft office attaches great importance to the education market, and has always concerned about collecting the demands from users in the field of education. In order to help developing countries in Asia and Africa to further improve the level of education informatization, expand the opportunities and improve the quality of higher education, Kingsoft Office, together with ICHEI, hopes to use China’s innovative experience and technology to provide more secure, efficient and easy-to-use office services for higher education institutions in Asia and Africa.
Donate WPS office software to “Smart Classrooms” in Asia and Africa
Kingsoft Office will provide free WPS office software for ICHEI’s partner universities. Currently, WPS supports a total of 43 language versions, which effectively solves the problem of language matching for office software localization.
Co-construction of curriculum resources platform to promote digital education innovation
The signing of the cooperation agreement means that Kingsoft OFFICE will officially join the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) and provide WPS Office related online courses to this global education resource platform to help the development of higher education in developing countries in Asia and Africa.
It is reported that Kingsoft Office has provided Office services for more than 220 countries and regions users around the world. Every month, more than 400 million users use Kingsoft Office products. More than 500 million files are created, edited and Shared on the WPS Office platform every day.
