Call for Online Courses
for the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE)

1.1 About the project
The International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) initiative is proposed by the International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) with its partner higher education institutions (HEIs) in developing countries in Africa and Asia-Pacific.

The mission of IIOE is to build the capacity of partner HEIs in developing countries to enhance their access to quality higher education. IIOE aims to fulfil this mission by a) developing ICT-related competencies of teachers in the partner HEIs in developing countries; b) building the capacity of partner HEIs for blended and online learning; and c) providing online courses to provide more professional development opportunities for female teachers in partner HEIs.
1.2 Beneficiaries
The main beneficiaries of online courses are teachers from partner HEIs in developing countries. The courses will be used for teacher training, blended teaching and learning activities as learning materials, in particular focusing on improving teachers’ capacity of ICT application. At present, countries and HEIs benefited include: Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia), Ahmadu Bello University (Nigeria), Ain Shams University (Egypt), Makerere University (Uganda), Mongolia University of Science and Technology (Mongolia), Royal University of Phnom Penh (Cambodia), University of Colombo (Sri Lanka), University of Engineering and Technology Lahore (Pakistan), University of Gambia (Gambia), University of Nairobi (Kenya). Cote d’lvoire, Malawi, Mali, Namibia, Niger, Senegal, Togo, and Zambia will join by 2020. At the same time, IIOE is open to develop partnerships with HEIs from other countries, to produce and share online course resources.
1.3 Objectives
IIOE is calling for online course resources from experts from HEIs and enterprises globally. The language of the course can be in English, French, Arabic, Spanish, and Russian.

2.Course Content
The ICT-related course need to be related to the below category:
(1)Discipline-related courses
Computer science and technology, including algorithm and complexity, architecture and organization, computing science, discrete structure, graphics and visualization, human-computer interaction, information security and safety, information management, intelligent system, network and communication, operating system, platform based development, parallel and distributed computing, programming language, software development foundation, software engineering, system foundation, etc.
(2)Vocational training courses
UI design, interaction design, user research, web front end, H5 development, app development, Android, IOS development, Unity3D、 UE4、PHP、JavaWeb、Python、 C/C++、Golang, data development, data mining, data analysis, machine learning, deep learning, AI algorithm, operation and maintenance, database, security, architect, software testing and QA, etc.
(3)Teacher professional development courses
Understanding ICT in education policy, curriculum and evaluation, pedagogy, application of digital skills, organization and administration, teacher professional learning and other fields. The content of the course tends to be focus on practice and application, such as using ICT tools, software, open education resources to carry out teaching and research.

3.1 Requirements
(1)Engineer or expert from field of computer science, educational technology;
(2)Having experience in online education and making online courses preferred;
(3)Fluent English and French preferred.
3.2 Procedures
Step 1: Send application documents to iioe@ichei.org with title: Course Application;
Step 2: IIOE Course Centre will review the course and give reply in 3 to 5 days;
Step 3:Produce course (Demo-PPT-Script-videos);
Step 4: Delivery of courses and finish payment.
3.3 Application Documents
(1)Course providers’ profile (1 page);
(2)Course application form (Annex I);
(3)Demo or link of previous course (if applicable).

4.1 Delivered materials
(1)All videos, introduction, syllabus, PPT, script;
(2)Answer questions about the course every 1-2 months.
4.2 Copyright
The copyright of the Course is owned by course provider and IIOE. The information of the developer can be shown on IIOE if the developer agrees.

The fee for each course will be around 500-3000 USD.
The amount of fee will be evaluated according to the content and duration of courses.
