Smart Classroom Was Launched at UET Lahore, PakistanOctober 20, 2019
To exploit the hardware and software in Smart Classroom at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, Pakistan, a workshop “Emerging Security Challenges in Internet of Things” was organized by National Center for Cyber Security (NCCS) and IoT Research and Innovation Lab (IRIL), in collaboration with Huawei UET Telecom and IT Center (HUTIC) Team. The workshop began at 10:00AM and ended at 4:00PM on 18th October 2019. 19 students and faculty members from UET-Lahore, PIEAS, FAST-NUCES, KICS, PDC and industry professionals participated in this workshop. Smart Classroom is a joint-project, in which the facilities were donated by Weidong Cloud Education Group (Weidong). And it was implemented by UET Lahore and was supported by Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI)
The Smart Classroom construction at UET Lahore was completed in July 2019, so it became the first project that was going to launch among the UNESCO-ICHEI’s project countries – Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Pakistan, Egypt, Ethiopia and Djibouti.(http://en.ichei.org/2019/08/23/deploying-weidong-smart-classroom-at-kics-uet-lahore-in-pakistan).
Through knowledge production, capacity building, technical support and information sharing, UNESCO-ICHEI will take a sustained effort to upgrade the infrastructure in Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) in Asia and Africa and to improve the quality of higher education and promote educational equity, which will facilitate the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4).
HUTIC KICS has planned to organize another workshop “Introduction to Blockchain” in Smart Classroom at UET Lahore on November 6th, 2019.
