UNESCO-ICHEI attended Huawei ICT Talent Global Contest and Award Ceremony

On the afternoon of May 26th, 2019, Professor LI Ming, Director, and Professor ZHAO Jianhua, Senior Specialist of UNESCO-ICHEI attended the 2018 – 2019 Huawei ICT Talent Global Contest and Award Ceremony as honorable guests.

This was the fourth time Huawei hosted such a contest, having attracted the participation of 61 countries, over 1600 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and more than 100,000 students from the globe. After rounds of selection at both country and regional levels, 147 students from 30 countries advanced to the final. Particularly, students from Southern University of Science and Technology took part in the contest for the first time. They did a great job in the innovation track and won the second prize.

The contest has provided a great opportunity for students across the world to engage in ICT learning and showcase their talents. It has also built a global platform for international exchange among the talents. Additionally, Huawei has proudly announced its joint efforts with world renowned universities in offering candidates of the final contest generous scholarships for graduate studies and short-term exchange programs.

UNESCO-ICHEI and Huawei have been global strategic partners, and are both dedicated to collaborating at all levels to promote the cultivation of ICT talents at HEIs, and build a sustainable ecosystem for ICT talents.
