The visit has laid a sound foundation for potential cooperation between ICHEI and CAI. Through CAI as an international platform of exchange and cooperation, ICHEI aims to facilitate the development of higher education along the Belt & Road and to promote African countries to utilize ICTs to achieve the massification of higher education and the improvement of higher education quality and equity.

At the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in 2018, President Xi Jinping announced that China has decided to establish the China-Africa Institute, with an aim to enhance mutual learning between Chinese and African civilizations and to strengthen exchanges of their experience in governance and development. CAI seeks to provide intellectual and talent support for the “Belt and Road” construction collaboration, and for comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership facing the future between China and Africa to build a closer China-Africa community with a shared future.
