ICHEI’s Delegation Visited Think Tanks for Asia-Pacific Studies

On May 6th, 2019, Professor Wei HAN, Executive Deputy Director of ICHEI, Ms. Fan LI and Ms. Sherry DUAN of the Asia-Pacific Programme Office, paid visits to the Institute for Central Asian Studies, Lanzhou University. Professor Shu YANG, Director of the Institute, Professor Jinguo WANG, Dean of School of Politics and International Relations at Lanzhou University, and Professor Xianghong ZENG, Vice Dean of the School etc., attended the meeting.

Prof. WANG first extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the School. Prof. YANG introduced the development of higher education in Central Asian countries and the educational cooperation between China and Central Asia. Afterward, Prof. HAN introduced the recent projects carried out by ICHEI and sought the advice of experts from the Institute on establishing a pilot project on higher education innovation in Central Asia. Finally, both sides discussed issues related to future cooperation in the field of education.

On May 8th, 2019, ICHEI continued to visit the Institute of South Asian Studies, Sichuan University. Prof. Tao LI, Deputy Director and Prof. Yonghong DAI, Head of the Center for Myanmar Studies under the Institute etc., attended the meeting. Prof. LI welcomed ICHEI and introduced the work carried out by the Institute in recent years. ICHEI also introduced our project and cooperation in South Asia, followed by a response to the potential opportunities to collaborate on policy recommendation, standard setting, cultivation of talents etc. In the end, the experts from the Institute spoke highly of the work conducted by ICHEI in South Asia and Myanmar, and expressed strong willingness on further exchanges and cooperation with ICHEI in the future.
