The Delegation of Huawei ICT Competition Indonesia Visited SUSTech and ICHEI

On 26 December 2018, the delegation of Huawei ICT Competition Indonesia (hereafter as “the delegation”) visited SUSTech and ICHEI.

Prof. LI Ming, Director of ICHEI and Dr. LI Xu, Deputy Director of Global Engagement Office hosted the delegation and participated in the meeting with the university representatives. Dr. LI Xu first introduced SUSTech’s development and its diverse international exchange activities. She indicated SUSTech’s willingness to collaborate with top universities in Indonesia in the field of higher education. Prof. LI Ming then welcomed the delegation and shared the ongoing projects conducted by ICHEI in Asia and Africa, such as university partnership, “Smart Classroom” project, and ICT capacity building activities. He also shared his recent visit to Indonesia where ICHEI reached the agreement to collaborate with Bandung Institute of Technology, along with SUSTech. In end, Prof. LI expressed his gratitude for the support Huawei has provided as ICHEI’s global strategic partner.

During the visit, the delegation paid visits to the campus model, testing centre and Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA) at SUSTech. They were all very impressed by the rapid development SUSTech has achieved in its short history.

Background:
As one of the most influential tech companies in the world, Huawei has developed a certification system that has become a well-recognized standard in talent development, receiving praises in the ICT industry. To continue to lead technical certification, train future ICT professionals, and build a healthy talent supply, the company has initiated the ICT Competition since 2016, attracting higher education institutions from over 32 countries. Themed “Connection · Glory · Future”, the competition intends to connect government, higher education institutions, training entities and enterprises so as to create a platform for university students to share and enhance their ICT skills. This year is the first time Huawei hosts this competition in Indonesia.
