UNESCO & Huawei to Cooperate in Higher Education in AfricaNovember 2, 2018
On the morning of October 27, 2018, UNESCO-ICHEI together with the UNESCO delegation visited Huawei headquarter to discuss issues of higher education innovation, ICT talents cultivation in Africa, and artificial intelligence, etc.

SUN Maolu introduced Huawei’s cooperation in Africa and the construction of ICT talent ecosystem. Matoko responded positively to SUN Maolu’s speech, beliving that UNESCO and Huawei share the same vision in many areas. UNESCO has always regarded Africa as its priority for development, and Huawei is also active in the development of ICT and personnel training in Africa. Matoko said UNESCO is willing to further communicate with Huawei to find the model for future cooperation. All representatives expressed their views on higher education and ICT development in Africa and how to achieve better cooperation between Huawei and UNESCO.
Being UNESCO-ICHEI’s global strategic partner, UNESCO-ICHEI and Huawei worked together on education cooperation in Africa, Asia-Pacific and Central and Eastern Europe. Director LI Ming expressed the willingness of the UNESCO-ICHEI to actively coordinate the cooperation between Huawei and UNESCO in promoting higher education innovation in Africa and to better contribute to the realization of SDG 4.
