2018 Seminar on Management Informatization of Higher Education Institutions for Chad Closed

On July 31th 2018, the foreign aid programme of the Ministry of Commerce of China, the “2018 Seminar on Management Informatization of Higher Education Institutions for Chad” was successfully concluded.

Mr. FAN Xiangdong, Vice President of Shenzhen Association for Promoting International Economic & Technological Cooperation (APIETC), Prof. LI Ming, Director of Center for Higher Education Research (CHER) of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Prof. ZHAO Jianhua, Deputy Director of CHER of SUSTech attended the closing ceremony and delivered speeches. In total, 20 participants from Ministry of Education, universities, school and institutions in Chad participated in the event.

Mr. GARSOUK SIDJIM GOUDJA, Director of Studies, Statistics and Information System, Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in Chad firstly delivered a speech. On behalf of Mr. Idriss Déby, President of Republic of Chad, and delegation of Chad, he expressed his sincere gratitude to Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Embassy of the Republic of Chad in the People’s Republic of China, APIETC, CHER of SUSTech, people of Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Beijing, and all the staffs from universities, institutions and companies for their contributions to this seminar. He held the view that the experience and knowledge learned from the seminar will be the beacon for the development of management informatization of higher education institutions, and hoped that the two sides will keep close contact and put the achievements from the seminar between the two governments in to practice technologically.

On behalf of APIETC, Mr. FAN Xiangdong then gave a speech in which he congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the seminar, and expressed his appreciation for the support provided by SUSTech and the well-designed courses and activities arranged by CHER. During the seminar, participants paid field trips to visit major Chinese universities and companies in the cities of Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Beijing, and took part in colorful cultural activities. He hoped that participants can bring technologies of ICT application in higher education and Sino-Chad friendship home.

Prof. LI Ming the took the stage to thank Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Chad, and SUSTech for the support of on the seminar. He followed to appreciate the helps by Mr. FAN Xiangdong and APIETC. He spoke highly of the achievements gained by the participants, and said he had a deeper knowledge of the status quo and vision of management informatization of higher education institutions in Chad. He hoped that universities and institutions in Chad will find out their shortcomings and improve the massification and quality of higher education by applying ICT.

The seminar lasted for 20 days and was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China. It was organized by the APIETC and co-organized by CHER. The delegation are mainly officials from Chad Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, professors and lecturers from universities and higher education institutions. The seminar sully showcases the innovation and experience of China’s ICT application in the field of higher education, and helps participants to understand and draw lessons from China’s achievements of ICT application in higher education which can then be implemented in their countries.
