ICHEI Awarded “Outstanding Contribution Award” to Weidong Cloud Education Group

On May 6th, 2018, Professor LI Ming, Director of ICHEI, visited Weidong Cloud Education Group, strategic partner of ICHEI, discussed details of implementation of the Smart Classroom Project in six Asian and African countries, and awarded the “Outstanding Contribution Award” to Weidong.

Director LI Ming spoke highly of the contribution Weidong has made to partner universities of ICHEI. Weidong provided necessary hardware, software and technical support to ICHEI’s partner universities free of charge, which will facilitate to enhance the development of educational informationization in the respective countries. Professor ZHAO Jianhua, Senior Specialist of ICHEI, concluded the progress of the Project and proposed a plan for subsequent arrangement. Mr. WANG Duanrui, Chairman of Weidong, expressed again strong support for the Smart Classroom Project and instructed Mr. SHEN Dai, General Manager of Department for Overseas Business of Weidong, to be responsible for the whole project.

The Smart Classroom Project in six Asian and African countries under the “Digital Education Link” Programme is a demonstrative programme along the maritime silk road initiated by ICHEI and Weidong. After careful investigation and consideration, ICHEI and Weidong chose six universities as partner universities, namely Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia, University of Colombo in Sri Lanka, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in Pakistan, Ain Shams University in Egypt, Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, and University of Djibouti in Djibouti. The above universities are all well-known and prestigious universities in their respective countries. Weidong provided hardware and funds, while ICHEI is responsible for the implementation of the Project in partner universities. ICHEI and Weidong hope that the Project may give rise to more and more research on and practices of distance learning in the project countries and hope to build the Project into a platform of higher education resources building and sharing in the country, region and the globe.
